The Bluewater BRAND represents the concepts of flexibility, clarity and pureness. In the supply chain management / maritime world, blue water equates to international trade, navies, pirates, and oceans.

It was 1991 when I first referred to myself as a consultant and entrepreneur - selling home security products in Memphis, TN.  It was not until a trip to the Florida Keys (mostly spent at the Lorelei Cabana Bar) in 1994 that reinforced my interest in the brand and symbolism of Bluewater.  In October 1999 and after a long day of snorkeling at “starfish alley” of Trunk Bay in St. John with Margaret Johns, I decided to rename my venture Bluewater Consulting.  We celebrated the naming of Bluewater at Duffy’s Love Shack bar in the port of Red Hook, St. Thomas with our new island friends.   In 2002, I obtained the domain www.BluewaterConsulting.com and we formed our company into a corporate entity in 2006.  In 201o, the USPTO granted our company a federal registration for the brand Bluewater Consulting.

Both Margaret and I have had successful careers in industry and hold appreciation to our Memphis heritage along with those first jobs.  After graduate school at UT in Knoxville, both Margaret and I enjoyed working in technology - I worked for i2 and Margaret worked for AC.  With those experiences, we were destined to impact the world.  Today, Bluewater Consulting has international clients, still is a leading innovator, and has top talent supporting its missions in four "core" industry areas.  We are the very best at what we do: minimizing risk, communicating and selling technology, driving results, and helping organizations and people. - Bill Johns, MBA, MPA
